Baby's first year

A calmer way to organise baby's first year

The first year brings recurring appointments and small administrative jobs alongside rapid everyday change. This hub gathers the site's existing tools into a manageable order, beginning with the tasks that matter in the first weeks and moving towards milestones you may want to remember.

Begin with the first weeks

Keep the early list short: follow discharge instructions, establish a clear sleep space and complete time-sensitive forms. Store reference numbers and digital copies as you go so each task only needs to be handled once.

Keep recurring appointments visible

The useful habit is not memorising a national schedule. It is recording the next appointment, bringing your baby health record and asking the provider which recommendations apply to your child.

Choose the memories that matter to your family

Milestones do not need to become another performance target. Decide which photographs, notes or keepsakes feel meaningful, then use the planning tools to make only those moments easier to remember.

Use milestones as prompts, not comparisons

  1. Babies develop at different rates. A keepsake or photography calendar is for planning family memories, not measuring whether your baby is progressing on a prescribed timetable.

  2. Recheck product setup as your baby grows and becomes more mobile. Instructions and safety requirements matter more than the convenience of keeping an item in use.

  3. Keep health records and appointment questions in one place. For individual feeding, sleep, growth, development or wellbeing concerns, speak with a qualified health professional.
